Dee Taylor loves people. Her life and career are focused by helping others, through servant leadership. As a young child, Dee recalls her grandmother selling produce from the roadside of her grandparents’ farm in rural Aiken, S.C. The early experience of selling and talking to customers, started Dee on her path; as a result, she says, “I’ve always been in sales of some kind.”

In the early days of cellular phones, Dee received a job offer in sales from Alltel. The job was to sell portable phones packages to businesses. At the time, Dee thought there was not much of a future in cell phones. Instead, she took a position in newspaper advertising where she remained for over twenty years. [Go ahead and chuckle...Dee sees the irony of this in hindsight and is laughing with you.]. Dee spent her last few years at the Aiken Standard as Advertising Director supervising a staff of fifteen.  She also worked with cable provider, Atlantic Broadband in Aiken, in business sales for two years.

Dee is now the Market Account Manager for Uniti Fiber, from Appling to Aiken, where she sells commercial internet, dark fiber and communication solutions. Uniti Fiber is a ‘leading provider of infrastructure solutions offering high-speed internet services across twelve states.’

As a rural Aiken native, Dee explains, “I understand the necessity for helping rural businesses gain super-fast communication access, when there are no other options.” Always being on the move for her role with Uniti Fiber, Dee began to look for a place to work between client meetings.

Dee first learned of theClubhou.se from reading an article in The Augusta Chronicle.  The article described the coworking environment and detailed how theClubhou.se is a business incubator. Dee shared, “I went by the Old Academy location for a tour, when the wonderful, smiling face of Rebecca, greeted me. I then met Grace; that was an awesome first impression! The membership rate is a no brainer, and now, the move to the new Georgia Cyber Center makes it even more awesome.”

You can meet Dee at every Beer & Bytes, and at the Cyber Center; she comes at least twice each week. “Being a member of theClubhou.se has been the single best decision I have done in my role as market director with Uniti Fiber.  It is hard to describe the ‘vibe’ of theClubhou.se, but it is palpable,” Dee Taylor says, “You can feel the creativity buzzing in the room. When you work remotely, alone, you often lose that ‘team’ concept, though theClubhou.se provides that sense of being part of a team for me.”

Continuing her efforts to help others, Dee is involved with Women in Defense, where she serves on the communications committee.  Dee also serves as leader of the Middle School Bible study class as her church, Berlin Baptist in rural Aiken County, where she has been a member for nearly 50 years.

As Dee continues in her work, she is learning more about connectivity as telecommunications advances, and how 5G will impact everyone.
