Nicole Ortiz - Endictus

‘theClubhou.se filled the gap’

Nicole Ortiz was in a tight spot.

Endictus, the government contracting and consulting company she founded in Florida in 2017, just had its major client move to Fort Gordon in Augusta, Georgia. Then COVID-19 happened, so Ortiz and her team found themselves quarantining themselves in hotel rooms for two weeks at a time as they traveled across states for meetings.

To keep her client, she needed a home office in Augusta. But she wasn’t a startup—her team is 10 employees strong—yet she couldn’t afford a full office space just yet.

That’s when she was referred to theClubhou.se.

“theClubhou.se filled the gap,” Ortiz says. “With the size of my business, there wasn’t another alternative. theClubhou.se was a perfect fit: It has the right amount of resources and price range that a small business like mine can afford.”

Thanks to theClubhou.se and its affordable resources provided by partners and donors, Ortiz and her team were able to relocate to the Augusta area and establish a second office, in the same city that is headquarters to the US. Army Cyber Command.

Ortiz says she primarily takes advantage of theClubhou.se’s professional conference rooms, which she’s usually able to book quickly and as needed for presentations and meetings. Its close proximity to other government offices and private industries as well as its location within the Georgia Cyber Center has made it easy to network with other similar companies; she’s already established several teaming agreements that she hopes will build other revenue streams.

Before launching Endictus, Ortiz ran her own fast-paced marketing business in Puerto Rico, serving clients including Coca-Cola, Kraft and Oreo. Then she moved to D.C. looking for new opportunities to use her skills in other areas, such as computing. She joined a government contractor in the field of electronic warfare. That experience convinced her to start Endictus, applying a private-sector mentality to government contracting for cybersecurity.

“I took a chance,” she says. And theClubhou.se is helping her build strong on the foundation she developed. “Right now, I’m the CEO and janitor,” she says. “My goal this year is to grow my business, staff my executive positions and formalize my business processes and earn more contracts. theClubhou.se is right there at the center of cyber in Augusta—there’s nothing like it.”
