1 Million Cups Augusta

theClubhou.se hosts 1 Million Cups to Educate, Connect Local Entrepreneurs!

blockWRK [ https://blockwrk.com ] and Sora [ https://soraschools.com ] are presenting this month!

This free, monthly program developed by the Kauffman Foundation helps build startup communities nationwide. Augusta is one of the newest homes of the national program to engage, educate, and connect local entrepreneurs. 1 Million Cups — based on the notion that entrepreneurs network and discover solutions over a million cups of coffee — is a free monthly gathering that helps to build startup communities on a grassroots level. Entrepreneurs, innovators, funders and other interested community members are invited to attend the first Wednesday of each month from 8 to 9 a.m. at theClubhou.se, located at 1 11th Street (100 Grace Hopper Lane) in downtown Augusta. The program’s model is consistent in each city: One Wednesday a month, two early-stage startups present their companies to an audience of mentors, advisors and other entrepreneurs. Each founder presents for six minutes, followed by a 20-minute question-and-answer session with the audience.

1 Million Cups in Augusta is currently accepting any business less than five years old that wants to present to the audience. Each company will be videotaped and have the opportunity to present at other 1 Million Cups across the country.

Augusta Cloud: My First 30 Days with Power BI

Join us as we welcome Greg Baker to speak at this month’s Cloud Meetup at the Clubhou.se!

Microsoft Power BI brings the power of enterprise business analytics to small and medium sized businesses.  Earlier this year, my company took the plunge with Power BI.  Overall, the results were tremendous.  We were able to start pulling information out of data that was previously impractical.  However, there is a slight learning curve and a few helpful tricks.  If you are comfortable with Excel, then you can use Power BI.  My goal for this seminar is to show you how!

Agile Augusta: Does Your Team Groove? What You Can Learn from a Bass Player!

If your team made music, what would it sound like? Would it be closer to a loud, unrefined, but enthusiastic garage band or a beautiful, precise, well-orchestrated symphony?

Your Agile team has more in common with a band than you may realize. I didn’t initially see the connections, but as I became a better bass player, I became a better Scrum Master and vice versa.

You don’t need to play an instrument or be a great singer to be musical. Longfellow called music the “universal language of mankind” and everyone enjoys music in some shape, form, or fashion.

This session is for anyone who is interested in expanding their connection to music and using that knowledge to create unique connections with colleagues and team members. Please join me and experience how space, dissonance, and groove can be applied to your teams and organizations.

This month's speaker will be David Gentry.

Credits: 1 PDU (PMP and PMI-ACP), 1 SEU

Beverages and light refreshments will be provided. If you have any questions, please contact David Gentry at davidwgentry@gmail.com
